Using Technology to Enhance Science Curriculums

Through the use of information and communication technology, this project aims to enhance science curriculums, expose students to more opportunities, improve motivation, and inspire interest and career aspiration in Syracuse City School District science classrooms.  Under the direction of Jing Lei, assistant professor, Instructional Design, Development and Evaluation, a primary goal of this technology integration initiative is to make technology resources in the School of Education available to students and teachers at Fowler High School aligned with the School of Education mission to maintain and promote outstanding scholarship and excellent teaching while providing valued service.  This project achieves the following objectives:

 

·        Helps science teachers and students make meaningful use of computer technology (service support and practice)

·        Creates better understanding of the nature of technology use and integration for science teaching and learning purposes (research)

Provides opportunities for graduate students to understand classroom practices related to technology integration and to encourage students to stay in school and graduate (teaching and advising)
